The Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP) certification is designed to measure an individual’s
competency in performing the following job tasks. The job tasks are not presented in any particular order of importance. 1. Maintain confidentiality of
records relating to clients’ treatment.
2. Encourage clients to express their feelings, discuss what is happening in their lives, and help
them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.

job duties:
Theodore V. Awad, Jr.
provides direct therapeutic interventions to adults, children, and families using Cognitive based Therapy. Also has a working
knowledge of Reality and Rational therapy. He is trained as
a pastoral counselor with
dual degrees helps him implement Belief therapy in conjunction with therapeutic interventions. He primarily as a Staff member
will work as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team utilizing assessment, case management and counseling skills to provide
comprehensive treatment for the
mental health needs of
mentally ill persons and those with life controlling problems. As the Assistant-Director he coordinates the Staff in multiple
treatment strategies and oversight of daily operation of the office. He consults closely with the Counseling Department Advisors
who are licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Maryland in resolving urgent situations and detoxification of addicted
individuals who are clients. He also as Staff will work in cooperation with family members and community organizations including,
but not limited to, law enforcement, hospital staff and other community providers. Clear, concise and timely documentation
of all activities is required. Staff will provide short-term

crisis counseling when indicated and authorized. Staff will conduct assessments of incarcerated individuals. He is a part
of an on-call crisis response team. He has a working knowledge of DSM IV mental disorders and has ability to perform a thorough
